Saxton 4x4 Supports BEN Charity at Bangers4Ben Annual Auction

Saxton 4x4 proudly took part in the Bangers4Ben annual charity auction and came away with two fully customised vehicles - donating £1,275 to automotive industry charity BEN.

Now in its 15th year, Bangers4Ben has raised over half a million pounds for the charitable organisation dedicated to supporting those who work in the motor sector.

This year, in the first weekend of October, 38 teams drove around Ireland on a four-day adventure in budget cars, while asking friends, family and colleagues to dig deep to help them raise money for automotive charity Ben.

Although teams are limited in what they can spend on the car, they can go as wild as they like in customising the vehicle, leading to some very entertaining fancy dress worn by both vehicle and driver.

For more than a decade and a half, industry professionals have annually attempted to get their sub £750 car to complete around 2000 miles over 4 days.

Each year a different location around Europe is chosen, with previous events visiting the home of Ferrari, touring the Alps, heading to Munich and even getting the cars around the amazing GP circuit at SPA.

Earlier rallies have featured themes like James Bond, the best of British, and cheese and wine. In 2023, the focus was on Ireland.

After the rally, the cars are auctioned off by BCA to further the fundraising efforts for BEN.

Saxton 4x4’s purchases included a VW Beetle converted into a cow and a Suzuki AN 250X motorbike adapted with a side cart and branded with Wallis and Gromit memorabilia. 

This year, Bangers4Ben raised funds of over £91,000, thanks to both team fundraising and car sales, breaking the previous record by more than £30,000

One of the senior buyers here at Saxton 4x4, Daniel Forster-Knight, expressed the organisation’s satisfaction in supporting such an important cause.

Saxton 4x4 is delighted to play a small part in the huge success of Bangers4Ben 2023 which has raised a record-breaking amount of funds this year and will positively impact the lives of those within the industry who are struggling or in crisis.
