Mazda releases drawings of new SUV

New concept pictures unveiled ahead of possible appearance at Frankfurt Motor Show

The intriguingly named ‘Koeru’ SUV concept hints at their being space in Mazda’s SUV line-up for a larger model.

The name translates as ‘Go Beyond’, which is interesting as it forms part of Land Rover’s marketing strapline and nods to the luxury brand being a benchmark for the car maker’s latest creation.

The teaser images shows swooping lines that are more coupe than 4x4 as does the low-slung nature of the artistic design.

Mazda hopes the Koeru will ‘surpass existing standards and raise the bar for performance, efficiency and overall value’.

Rumours are that the will go towards replacing the outgoing CX-7 and go up against the BMW X6 and Discovery Sport.

Expect the Koeru to feature Mazda’s SkyActive technology offering good economy and enterprising design.
