Alfa Romeo SUV is coming in 2016

Italian car maker continues its range expansion to boost business

The SUV market is booming and all manufacturers want their slice of the action. Now Alfa is the latest to be throwing its’ hat into the ring.

Alfa’s parent company, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, has already dipped its feet into the segment in the shape of the pretty ordinary Fiat 500L.

However, the good thing about an Alfa Romeo alternative is that it will be squarely aimed at the premium market not just on styling and quality, but also on sheer driveability.

Rumour has it their first foray will be a mid-sized SUV built solely to take on rivals the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Mercedes GLC.

Apparently going under the code-name 949 it is hoped that we could well see an Alfa Romeo SUV as soon as next year, with the new model taking styling cues from the Giulia.
